Greeting the Week with Gratitude
How was your weekend? Wonderful I hope! I’ve been fighting with a sore throat. It is kind of intermittant and I think allergy related, but it has my energy levels down a bit so it was another low key weekend around our house. So the weekend was filled with lots of homemade soup and whole grain baked goods from chocolate banana mini doughnuts with peanut butter glaze to garlic breadsticks as well as oranges, yogurt, kombucha, coffee and Bengal Spice tea.
Originally we had talked of another bike ride on Sunday when the wind was forecasted to be back down again, but we opted instead to take a long-ish brisk walk so I wouldn’t overdo in case the sore throat is more than allergies. For some reason I cannot resist pushing myself when I get on my bike. So that was the weekend in a nutshell.
Mondays for many can be a bit of a drag. You are back to the daily grind, getting everyone up and out the door on time and punching the time clock. Fortunately, I know at the end of it I get to sit around the table with a bunch of wonderful, wise , funny, smart, sassy women at “The Clubhouse.” That always makes Mondays much easier to bear. However, you do have to get through the day first.
I want to try something new with this first Monday in February – starting the work week off by greeting it with gratitude. So, on that note here are the things I’ve been thankful for over the last week…
- Fleece lined leggings and boots which make wearing dresses and skirts to work much more manageable in the winter.
- Homemade soup and breadsticks made with love and teamwork! Which really translates into being glad my DH is as talented and comfortable in the kitchen as I am so the “work” of cooking isn’t so much “work.”
- The ability to live an active lifestyle and my foam roller that lets me work out the kinks when I’ve overdone it (either with activity or with too much computer work or knitting) :-)
- Access to a fantastic food co-op with a great selection of bulk grains, flours, herbs and spices as well as a wide variety of locally produced food to explore.
Care to join me in greeting the week with gratitude? Just comment below with that you’ve been thankful for lately, or post a link to your gratitude-related blog post in a comment. If this seems to take off I’ll look into a proper link exchange plug-in to implement.
Have a great Monday and a great week ahead!
