Queen of Hearts Socks in the Snow Queen of Hearts Socks Modeled

Pattern: My own, slated for publishing in the Spring 2007 issue of Spin-Off. Can you guess what the pattern is called?
Needles: 2 Addi Turbo US1 16″ circs
Yarn: My hand dyed Northern Lights BFL, hand spun, less than 3 oz.
Recipient: Myself, how could anyone else appreciate the massive amount of work that goes into dyeing roving, spinning that roving into yarn, then knitting and designing that yarn into a pair of socks?

Well, I finally finished the super sekrit project. I’m not showing off the FO on Friday because it isn’t really eye candy because I had to obscure the details of the design. But, it is slated to be published in the spring so you’ll get to see it in all its glory before too long!

I’m sure most of you had figured out a long time ago that it was socks. But I have to say this design is drastically different than my previous sock designs. I think you’ll like it. These are knit from my hand dyed and hand spun BFL, but it would look equally well in a commercial yarn as well.

I also have a plan for a coordinating manly pair of socks, though I think I’ll knit those from commercial yarn…

I just finished knitting your Spearfish socks. I love the pattern and found it very easy to follow. Thanks!

Wonderful! Congrats on getting published!
I just bought my first drop spindle and roving yesterday at Rhinebeck. I’ve been teaching myself to spin this morning. Maybe someday I’ll be knitting socks from my homespun. . .
